Student Support Services
At Christian Alliance P.C. Lau Memorial International School (CAPCL), we are devoted to fostering an inclusive learning environment that empowers every student to thrive and find fulfillment. We believe that each child is unique, endowed with distinct gifts and talents. Our multidisciplinary support team provides individualized assistance to help students reach their full potential.
Our team includes highly qualified and experienced learning support teachers and assistants, English language learning specialists, behavioral and learning specialists, guidance counsellors, and an educational psychologist.
In partnership with parents, teachers, school leaders, and external professionals, we work collaboratively to address each child’s diverse needs—nurturing academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth throughout their school journey.
At CAPCL, we take a whole-child approach to language learning. ELL teachers collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure that support is integrated with everyday learning.
Students receive help through:
- Small Group Instruction (Pull-Out): Targeted sessions focused on reading, writing, listening, and speaking, tailored to each student’s proficiency and progress.
- In-Class Support (Push-In): Real-time language scaffolding within regular lessons, allowing students to fully participate and learn in context.
The ELL Programme serves students whose first language is not English and who require additional language development. Each student’s needs are identified through assessment at admission or as they arise. Progress is monitored regularly through formal and informal evaluations to ensure support remains responsive and effective.
At CAPCL, we provide services for students with mild to moderate learning needs. Our Learning Support teachers and assistants design individualized supports to help bridge learning gaps within the regular classroom setting, enabling students to engage fully with the curriculum and reach their potential.
Our approach follows a collaborative model focused on early intervention, prevention, and evidence-based strategies for remediation. Students identified with specific learning needs receive a continuum of support tailored to their unique profiles.
Learning Support Teachers provide classroom consultation, collaborative planning, team teaching, small group instruction, and individual remediation using specialized curriculum resources. Throughout the process, parents and teachers are active partners in developing and reviewing each student’s personalized support plan.
Nurturing Student Wellbeing and Growth
