Christian Alliance P.C. Lau International School (CAPCL), a non-profit making school wholly owned by Kowloon Tong Church of the Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance, invites applications from potential applicants (Christian is highly preferred) to fill the following position:

Primary (Homeroom) / Chinese Substitute Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities

Substitute teachers will provide instruction and class supervision to cover staff on leave.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of two years classroom teaching experience, preferably in primary school or with Canadian education background
  • Teaching qualification recognized by the Hong Kong Education Bureau and eligibility for Registered Teacher standing in Hong Kong required
  • Commitment to best educational practices and on-going professional improvement
  • Current eligibility for employment in Hong Kong

Language Competency

Primary (Homeroom) Substitute Teachers
  • Instructional competency in English is essential
  • Native proficiency in spoken and written English required
  • Fluency in spoken and written Chinese preferred
 Chinese Substitute Teachers
  • Prior experience teaching Mandarin as a second / foreign language in a school setting preferred
  • Proficiency in simplified and traditional script required
  • Native proficiency in Mandarin required
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
